C6438 - Group Theories and Practice3 credit hour(s) This course is designed to provide the counselor with a theoretical foundation for group counseling. There is an emphasis on developing a personal model for group practice, as well as a survey of the major theories and contributors to the field of group counseling. Types of group leaders, ethical issues in group work, states of group development, and integrating group theory into a counseling practice are of special interest.
