DEN160 - Pain Management

3 credit hour(s)
This lecture/lab course covers the physical, chemical and/or psychological methods of dealing with the unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with dental treatment. Methods used to control dental pain and anxiety concentrating on the use of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide/oxygen sedation will be covered. The lab portion of this course consists of a minimum of 20 hours of lab instruction devoted to local anesthetic administration. In addition, this course consists of a minimum of 10 hours of lab instruction devoted to nitrous oxide/oxygen sedation.
