HUM200 - Critical Thinking and Problem Solving3 credit hour(s) This course aims to strengthen students’ abilities to read and listen critically, and to identify, analyze and evaluate formal and informal arguments in professional and everyday discourse. Students will learn to distinguish valid from invalid arguments, identify bias and evaluate evidence in arguments, respond reflectively to arguments, and generate well formed arguments of their own. Emphasis will be placed on applying these skills to evaluating real world arguments and solving real world problems from a variety of points of view.
