CJA 215 - Criminal Law3 credit hour(s) This course explores the legislative intent and specific elements of criminal laws that have been enacted to deter and punish behaviors determined to be harmful or otherwise socially unacceptable. The course examines the history and nature of criminal law, the concepts of act and intent, the distinctions between infractions, misdemeanors and felonies, and the factors that constitute a criminal defense.
