The updates listed in below apply to the 2012-2013 Argosy University Academic Catalog—Graduate Programs | Volume 3, Issue 1 . In addition to correcting errors in the 2012-2013 Argosy University Academic Catalog—Graduate Programs | Volume 3, Issue 1, this publication compiles new and updated information.

The entries below describe where the new information should be inserted. Students are encouraged to contact their academic advisor or program chair in the event they have any questions regarding changes in program requirements.

 Corrections Applied: 12.18.2013

This catalog addendum has been revised to reflect the following corrections.

When this catalog addendum was published, the following items were omitted and have since been inserted. The (*) note associated with the second bullet point item under Graduation Requirements that clarifies that students enrolled in the EdD in Counseling Psychology degree program offered by Argosy University, Denver are required to satisfactorily complete 63 credit hours beyond the master’s degree. In addition, a (*) note should be inserted as a clarification to the first sentence of the paragraph under Program Foundation Requirements that states that the credit hour requirements for the EdD in Counseling Psychology degree program offered by Argosy University, Denver are 63 credit hours. These items are described under the second and third entries listed under Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology Degree Program (Non-Licensure).

  • Successful completion of an approved internship placement totaling 2080 hours which occurs over 12-24 months.

The second sentence under Program Requirements  should be replaced with the following:

In addition to completing the course requirements listed above, students are required to successfully complete a doctoral level practicum, comprehensive examination, and defend their dissertation.

Update

The core course requirements  have changed. C7454 Models of Clinical Supervision has been replaced with C7458 Diagnosis and Treatment Planning. See entry below for updated course list.

“Internship Requirements” should be removed from the above referenced page:

Internship Requirements

All students enrolled in the EdD in Counseling Psychology degree program at Argosy University, Denver are required to complete an Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) or APPIC like internship. Students are eligible to begin internship when they have successfully completed all their academic course work and passed the Counseling Psychology Comprehensive Examination. It is highly recommended that students have defended their dissertation proposal prior to beginning internship. Students work with the Program Chair or Director of Training to complete the application process and make application to appropriate internship sites. The internship application process begins in September and is completed in December. Internships begin the following August or September. Most internship placements require a 35-40 hour work week commitment for a minimum of 12 months. Students are required to complete 2,080 hours during internship. There are some internship sites in Colorado, however many sites are not in the Denver area. There are sites throughout the United States which the student can apply. Students are not eligible for graduation without completing the internship and dissertation.
