Introduction


The errata listed below have been applied to the 2010-2011 Argosy University Academic Catalog—Undergraduate Programs, Volume 1, Issue 1. In addition to correcting errors in the 2010-2011 Argosy University Academic Catalog—Undergraduate Programs, Volume 1, Issue 1,  this publication includes new and updated information.  

The list below compiles corrected and updated items with a short description of where the new information has been inserted. Students are encouraged to contact their academic advisor or program chair in the event they have any questions regarding changes in program requirements.


General Revisions to the Argosy University Academic Catalog—Undergraduate Programs


Correction

The following applies to  Registration Policy for Developmental Coursework (College of Undergraduate Studies) .

 The credit hour equivalency for MAT096 Mathematics Review I should read “3” as indicated below.

Correction

The second sentence of the first paragraph under Relocation to Another Argosy University Campus  should read as follows:

Students who are relocating geographic areas with less than 30% of their degree program to complete may take courses at another campus but remain a student of record at the initial campus except where either programmatic accreditation or state regulatory requirements impose restrictions.

Correction

The second bullet point after the second paragraph under Academic Probation  should read as follows:

  • The student has failed to earn 67 percent of credit hours attempted on a cumulative basis at the end of the semester.
Correction

The first sentence under Criteria for Removal from General Probation   should read as follows:

The body that placed the student on general probation (the SPDC or SCC) determines the conditions under which students placed on general probation shall be removed.

Update

The following update applies to the Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting  degree program Track I course requirements.

The third bullet point under “Admissions Requirements” should be replaced with the following:

  • Minimum High School or College GPA as follows:
    • For students with 12 or less college credits, cumulative High School GPA of 2.0 or above
    • For students with 13 or more college credits, cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above

Students admitted on an exception basis will be assigned “Provisional Status” in accordance with Argosy University policies regarding Satisfactory Academic Progress. Students in term-based programs will have a maximum of two semesters to meet the standards for academic progress.

Provisional status does not impact a student’s eligibility for financial aid.

The following note should be added to the third bullet point under “Other Admission Requirements” that reads, “Official transcripts from all postsecondary schools attended”:

*Students admitted on Provisional Status, or on the basis of their high school GPA need only submit official transcripts for coursework they wish to have considered for transfer credit.

MED 101 Introduction to Medical Assisting Program

This orientation course is designed to acclimate the student into the college atmosphere and into the Medical Assisting Program. Students will receive basic instruction necessary for success in the program: program and university policies and resources, basic fundamental terminology, safety requirements, study skills, interpersonal skills, and the shadowing project. The course is required in the first semester.

DMS 130 Sectional Anatomy For Sonographers

This elective course studies human anatomy in body planes. Correlation with sonographic and other imaging slices, and helps prepare students to understand the relationship between anatomical structures.
