HUM440 - Critical Thinking: Common Sense and Everyday Life3 credit hour(s) This course aims to strengthen students’ abilities to read and listen critically, and to identify, analyze and evaluate formal and informal arguments in professional and everyday discourse. Using tools from both formal and informal logic, students will learn to distinguish valid from invalid arguments, identify bias and evaluate evidence in arguments, respond reflectively to arguments, and generate well formed arguments of their own.
