PC6700 - Couples and Family Counseling3 credit hour(s) This course provides a broad theoretical and practical foundation for counseling diverse couples and families. Students learn to conceptualize, integrate and apply relevant information on family development and clinical interventions from multiple systemic orientations for complex issues, such as domestic violence, spousal abuse, child abuse, and elder abuse. By focusing on assessment, research, and theoretical application, students develop their ability to generate treatment plans specific for couples and families.
